Now let's talk about the project and what makes it tick, how we do what we do and how YOU can help us make this project even better.
-
There are all different kinds of tasks that should be taken care of either sporadically or systematically, some of which are trivial and some are complex and requiring knowledge, experience and a skill. The range of tasks is pretty wide - from getting music/videos into archive and UNIX server administration, to translation of the web-site pages into different languages and going to a show and talking to bands about the project and giving legal advice. All of this can't be done effectively by one or even just two people. So, what we're talking here is a team of skilled dudes working on the best hardcore punk archive ever. Yes, you heard that right - a team of dedicated hardcore dudes working on creating the best hardcore punk archive EVER. No less.
That means that we're actively looking for people who are interested in the project and are willing to devote their time, effort and skill to make this project one of a kind. That also means quite a bit of work, time and dedication, but if someone is bound to stay with us for a short time only we understand that life isn't a simple thing and things do change. We'll be glad to have anyone for any period of time so don't let the thought of uncertainty of tomorrow prevent you from doing what you may enjoy doing with us.

We firmly believe that this project offers a great opportunity for everyone to seriously work on a prospective project, master and hone some of your skills, while contributing to a good cause. If you're into computer technology we have a job for you. If you can speak thirteen or just two foreign languages we have a job for you. You spend a lot of time visiting hardcore shows? You may represent the project by spreading the word and talking to bands. If you're savvy in legal matters, laws and copyright related issues you may think of CHPA as a source of REAL practice and professional experience. In fact, we believe that anyone joining CHPA team SHOULD be looking at it as a REAL LIFE opportunity to take part in a international project where skill, knowledge and expertise will come to you in return for your invested time and effort. Maybe fame within hardcore scene too. Maybe even far beyond the hardcore scene who knows.
If you feel like you can put your skill, time and effort into good use and would love to join CHPA team contact us right now. Also, make sure you read the rest of this page to understand what CHPA as a team is comprised of and what currently needs to be done, what skills and people we're looking for.
CHPA is comprised of various units or - if this sounds less bewildering - active groups each having specific tasks and responsibilities but each
working jointly so that CHPA is one, whole entity.
A current set of various diverse tasks naturally creates the following project units relationship structure. There are basically three major areas or groups of activities that led to formation of Units: communications, legal and technology. Each unit is comprised of a number of unit members and is governed by Unit Leader. Unit Leader is a supervisor and manages the activities of its accountable Unit. As shown in the chart all Units' activities are interconnected and thus whole units including their members and leaders cooperate with one another, Project Leader and public. Project Leader is a person who oversees and helps drive the project development in accordance with the Mission Statement and set project goals.
Now let us take a closer look at what each of this so called units does.
Interested? Contact Communications Unit Leader or visit Unit forum.
People involved with what we dubbed as communications area are actually the ones digging out music and video recordings that you can find in our archive. These people also communicate with bands in many various ways, from e-mail and IM via the Internet to real life encounters at shows and/or arranged meetings. These people truly represent CHPA out there and are the core unit of the CHPA project.
Ideally we'd love to have at least one person in every city where there is hardcore scene. Nonetheless, if there's no hardcore scene in your city per se it doesn't mean you can do nothing to contribute to the project. If you have an access to the Internet you have access to the world meaning that you could easily use this awesome technology to your advantage and work on project with us from the comfort of your home or wherever you like to hang out. All it takes is being able to contact bands on the Internet and do what others do in real life - spread the word about the project and make an offer to bands to add their materials to our archive.
So, basically there are two main ways to work in Communications Unit: exclusively through the internet (in case there is no hardcore scene in your area whatsoever) and going with a mixed approach meeting with bands on shows or arranged meetings AND using the Internet to do the same.

One of the main and striking differences you'll find out about CHPA is that we make it our objective to create a legal multimedia archive. This wouldn't be possible without our Legal Unit. Legal Unit handles such daunting tasks as determining what's right and what's wrong in terms of various laws, whether this or that material can be made a part of our archive, making their best judgement and providing legal advice to bands and members of Communications Unit when required.
We're very proud to have this unit as a part of our project and make a crucial difference in an uncontrollable world of the Internet piracy, chaos and copyright infringement. We do this not to just only protect our own back but also to ensure that you and every other visitor can be 100% sure that if they open our FTP archive FBI won't be knocking up your front door telling you that you broke a bunch of laws when you downloaded some MP3s off the CHPA FTP server and you should be arrested for that. While this doesn't hold true for many countries this is the reality for some of the most developed ones in our world. And we take care of that.

Interested? Contact Technology Unit Leader or visit Unit forum.
Technology unit is responsible for all the geek stuff. These people ensure that our web and FTP servers as well as UNIX server itself run smoothly, important data - such as forum database and archive contents for example - is backed up and made redundant, they take care of sorting out the materials on FTP server and checking if it meets our quality standards. Thanks to these people this web-site, forum and the CHPA archive itself function properly.
We're currently seeking people to take up the following positions of responsibility:
- Linux Server Administrator
- Web-Designer
- Web-Developer
- iPhone application developer
- Hardcore Punk Show Photographer
At this point when we only start out much of the work is done by several people but that's just today. We have a view of CHPA as a project where many people are involved doing what they love to do and what they can do best. Not too many people but not one or two either (hey, who knows maybe someday there will be a lot of us).
If you want to discuss the project with us and other people you're welcome to join our forum and ask your question or leave a comment.
