Below is a list of open positions for the CHPA Technology Unit. Description of what activities and responsibilities each position implies follows. Feel free to offer your help and expertise, and join the project.
Please note that the positions descriptions presented outline only major responsibilities that may change over time. Also new additional responsibilities will most certainly emerge so take this into consideration.
Unit Leader will coordinate and supervise Technology Unit activities and will have at least the following major responsibilities:
- managing project technology systems (e.g. FTP server, web-site)
- develop and administer long range planning for the technology systems
- mentoring new unit members
- coordinating unit members' activities
- attending arranged meetings with bands
- attending project meetings
- providing information on progress and results of unit activities according to devised plans
- communicating with members of other project units
- communicating with bands
- communicating with press & public
An ideal candidate will possess educational training in computer science field, have real-life, successfull 1+ year experience as coordinator of technology, good social and excellent organizational skills, have good knowledge of UNIX systems and various technology systems, high discipline, be self-motivated and self-starting, able to plan, manage and lead others, a passion for hardcore music and sub-culture, enough free time to take on the outlined responsibilities, share project core believes, excellent knowledge of written and spoken English is a plus.
Linux Server Administrator will administer project servers and services and will have at least the following major responsibilities:
- administer and monitor Linux server performance
- administer and monitor services that run on the server (http, ftp, etc.)
- implement new services and solutions on request
- making data backups on the regular basis
An ideal candidate will possess educational training in computer science field, have real-life, successfull 1+ year experience as system/network administrator, excellent knowledge of *NIX & POSIX compliant systems, software and hardware RAID, mirroring techniques, bittorrent protocol and experience setting up a bittorrent tracker software, good working knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, switching, routing, DNS, POP, IMAP, SMTP etc.) and the following services - HTTP, FTP, MySQL, etc.; working knowledge of iptables, iproute2, regexp, shell scripting language (ability to write shell scripts is a big plus), a passion for hardcore music and sub-culture, enough free time to take on the outlined responsibilities, share project core believes, good knowledge of written English.
Web-designer will maintain and take part in the development of the project web-site, its related web-projects and will have at least the following major responsibilities:
- creating web-site graphics
- creating web-site page layout design
- writing code for the designed pages
- producing web-site content including graphics and multimedia objects
- continued maintenance and customization on an as-need basis
An ideal candidate will have a portfolio of completed works, real-life, successfull 1+ year experience as web-designer, good working knowledge of XHTML and CSS, W3C standards for (X)HTML and CSS, JavaScript/AJAX, Flash, good design sense, SEO techniques, project management skills, ability to draw by hand, a passion for hardcore music and sub-culture, enough free time to take on the outlined responsibilities, share project core believes, good knowledge of written English.
Web-developer will maintain and develop project web-site, its related web-services and will have at least the following major responsibilities:
- designing and developing project web-site
- creatig and deploying project specific applications
- designing and developing the necessary back-end database and SQL calls for the applications
- continued maintenance, development, and bug fixes for applications and customization on an as-need basis.
An ideal candidate will have a portfolio of completed works, real-life, successfull 1+ year experience of work as web-developer, good working knowledge of PHP, ANSI SQL, (X)HTML and CSS in accordance with W3C standards, JavaScript/AJAX, extensive knowledge of MySQL, experience creating a Content Management System from the ground up, experience creating a web-site and web-based search system, experience with CVS/SVN, have good project management skills, passion for hardcore music and sub-culture, enough free time to take on the outlined responsibilities, share project core believes, good knowledge of written English.
iPhone Application Developer will create and continually develop and maintain an iPhone application(s) for the project. This position implies the following responsibilities:
- designing and developing project specific iPhone applicaiton
- continued maintenance, development, bug fixes
An ideal candidate will have development background with C, C++, Objective-C, real-life, successfull 1+ year experience of work as application developer, good optimizaiton and debugging skills, extensive knowledge of iPhone platform, experience on the Mac is a plus, have good project management skills, passion for hardcore music and sub-culture, enough free time to take on the outlined responsibilities, share project core believes, good verbal and written communication skills, good knowledge of written English.
Hardcore Punk Show Photographer will take pictures of hardcore shows. Responsibilities for this position are:
- attending shows
- executing shoots of bands and everything that happens during the show
- progressively making stock footage for the project
An ideal candidate will have a portfolio of works, successfull 1+ year experience of work as professional photographer or a hobbyist, being able to create shoots that represent hardcore sub-culture and speak to youth and older generations alike, will furnish his/her own equipment, have passion for hardcore music and sub-culture, enough free time to take on the outlined responsibilities, share project core believes, good verbal and written communication skills, good knowledge of written English.
